Yerba mate tea, a traditional South American drink, is gaining recognition for its metabolism-boosting, appetite-suppressing properties that support weight loss naturally.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of dried yerba mate leaves or 1 yerba mate tea bag
  • 1 cup hot water (not boiling)
  • Optional: lemon slices, fresh mint, or honey

Instructions

  1. Fill a gourd or cup halfway with yerba mate leaves, or place a tea bag in a mug.
  2. If using loose leaves, tilt the gourd and insert the bombilla on the empty side.
  3. Add a splash of cold water to moisten the leaves.
  4. Pour hot (not boiling) water over the leaves or tea bag.
  5. Let steep for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Optional: Add lemon, mint, or honey for flavor.
  7. For iced yerba mate, chill the brewed tea and serve over ice with citrus slices.

Notes

Drink 1 to 3 cups daily, preferably in the morning or before workouts. Avoid late-evening consumption to prevent sleep disturbances.
